Preservation
Proper preservation
Potatoes must be properly stored, whether fresh or frozen. We explain how to do it.
The cold chain
Never break the cold chain! Buy frozen food last when shopping, and make sure that the freezer temperature in the store is below -18°C. Place the products in the freezer as soon as you get home, or use them within 24 hours if they're thawed.

GET TO KNOW YOUR FREEZER
****/*** (-18°C) Four or three stars? The product will last until the expiry date written on the package.

** (-12°C) Two stars? The product must be consumed within one month.

* (-6°C) One star? Time is running out. The product must be consumed within a week.
Fresh potatoes have their own rules
Store potatoes in a cool, dark place, between 6°C and 10°C. If you don't have a cellar, keep them in wooden or cardboard boxes lined with dry cotton cloths, layers of clean cardboard, or paper bags.
